In a nutshell, Technology and IT related case studies describe how a company or organization solved a challenge using a technical product or service, and what the results of solving that challenge were. In the end, it’s really a “before and after” story.

Well first, case studies tell a story. And everybody loves a story. The guard usually comes down and the mind opens up. Case studies are like testimonials on steroids. They provide credibility to a company’s claim that their product or service is a solution to their problem because somebody else who has actually used it (usually a business peer) says that it is so.
This is very powerful. In many cases, all it takes to get a potential customer to make a buying decision is for them to read 1 or 2 well written case studies.
